Local show: I'll miss this,

but you should see it.

Today Austin received a light morning rain, and we’re expecting thunderstorms this evening. It’s 92° at this mid-afternoon moment (average for this time of year), and temperatures should continue to decline into ACL (Austin City Limits festival) next month.

Studio construction is well underway as of today, and it’s looking like dry-in status will be achieved by the end of November. Fully palpable.

Mala Nota’s first album, Los Peores Éxitos Vol.1 (aka The Worst Hits, Vol 1), landed on August 25th, and has already received play around the planet. A video is in production for the song “I Saw Your Picture,” and perhaps it will be ready to share next month. It stars East Austin, and the character development revolves around a familiar story. We can all relate. Spin it and let me know your favorite songs.

Things get even more official: the sticker.

Id in tuem articulum pone (roughly, Stick it in your ear)

Music to get into your ear—live, streamed, or vinyl. Due to a prior engagement, I will miss Cazayoux at Sahara Lounge on September 29. But, if you’re in Austin, please see them. Please. Thank you. For a taste, here’s a live-streamed show from The Purple Bee. What a night that was: they kept playing and playing and playing.

Thanks again for reading. Feel free to send questions or topics you might like to hear about from me. I’m thinking about AI and music, and might have a few words compiled for next month.
